Stick to being The Best
THINKING of joining the British Army — don’t expect to be the best! Market research commissioned by the British Army revealed their longstanding slogan Be The Best was considered dated, elitist, non-inclusive and in need of rebranding.
It spent half a million pounds in an effort to downgrade this honourable notion. Is this meant as a joke? Did the generals rise to their position by not being the best as they so proudly display the emblems of their greatness pinned on their chests?
Thankfully, new Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson has dropped these idiotic plans, but if they had been given the go ahead, could we then conclude that those empowered with our future safety would be less than capable of performing this task, leaving us vulnerable, ridiculed and at the mercy of our enemies?
The Army has to be the best to be able to take on the worst. We do not want a second-rate Army of limited capabilities thwarted in its every move by the politically correct notion of elitism.
