Morally empty Qatar?
I AM disgusted at Baroness Verma’s suggestion that we should sidle up to the Qataris (Letters).
As an airline pilot, I worked for two years in Doha for Qatar Airways. In all my years as a pilot I have travelled all around the world and never have I been to a worse country.
Qatar has no regard for human rights and by cosying up to them we are accepting money made from the blood of many South Asian migrant workers who are exploited, abused and treated as forced labour.
Not to mention human rights abuses including floggings, stonings and the repression and criminalisation of the LGBT community.
The Saudi sanctions highlights the dubious connection the Qatar regime has with the Muslim Brotherhood, Afghan Taliban and groups in Syria, including Al Qaeda affiliates.
I would rather be financially poorer but morally richer than court Qatar.
