TV guru ‘to jump ship’

A MERGER with Disney could see one of 21st Century Fox’s top TV writers jump ship to online rivals.

Ryan Murphy, behind hits such as Nip/tuck and Glee, is negotiating a new contract but could now leave Fox, according to Bloomberg. the 52-year-old may go to online services such as Netflix or Amazon. He has been at Fox for eight years but Disney’s £39bn purchase of most of its entertainment assets is said to have left him in limbo.

this has emboldened rivals to launch bids to poach talent. Fox declined to comment while Murphy could not be reached.
