Labour ‘is rife with three types of anti- Semitism’

THERE are ‘three categories’ of anti-Semitism in the Labour Party, the founder of the Corbyn- backing Momentum group has said.

Jon Lansman, speaking at the Limmud Festival of Jewish learning in Birmingham, said the first category involves ‘the kind of petty remarks about big noses, which are dreadful’.

He said the second type ‘arrives from the Israel-Palestine conflict’, while the third is ‘extremely rare – it’s the real old-school anti-Semitism that believes in blood libels and so on’.

Mr Lansman, who is Jewish, added there is a lot of denial over the problem within the party. He said Labour must ‘stamp it out, oppose it, make clear it is unacceptable’.
