Could eating cheese every day protect your heart?

YES, cheese really is good for you, according to a new study.

Eating 40 grams a day — a matchbox-sized portion — could reduce your risk of heart attacks and strokes, according to a recent study from Soochow University in China.

Researcher­s analysed diet informatio­n from 20,000 people. Those who ate this amount of cheese had a 14 per cent reduced risk of cardiovasc­ular disease and a 10 per cent reduced risk of stroke compared with those who rarely consumed it.

It may be that calcium in cheese offsets its ‘bad’ fat content by making saturated fat less digestible.
