The spy in my phone
IT CERTAINLY feels that Facebook is doing more than just monitoring conversations and accessing phone cameras ( Mail). Two unnerving events have happened to me.
While shopping one day, I placed my iPhone in my back pocket with a bunch of keys. Stopping for coffee at a cafe, it felt a little uncomfortable to sit down, but I thought nothing more of it.
That evening, scrolling through my Facebook news feed, I was amazed to see an advert asking ‘Do your keys annoy you when you sit down?’ and promoting a device that combines your keys into a Swiss Army-type tool. I was speechless! I had not spoken to anyone about the incident.
The next week, I began driving a
company van on which the central locking did not work, which I did not mention to anyone. But within two days, I was targeted by Facebook with a local car key reprogramming service to rectify this problem.
I can’t believe these uncanny events are just coincidences. I have stopped using Facebook.
