2017
My time is up, I must be gone. I wouldn’t want to linger on. There’s such a lot of hate around. I can’t access the centre ground. I have to watch much mental stress, And there’s increasing homelessness. While dominant technology Does not seem wholly good to me. I search around for those who care, And want to love, and they are there. But, with bleak news, it’s hard to find An attitude that’s wholly kind. I feel I’ve failed. As I depart, I leave my time with heavy heart.
2018
It’s my turn now, move on, old year. I trust that I will bring good cheer. My message is concise and terse — ‘Cheer up, things surely can’t get worse!’ Jill Rundle, Oundle, Peterborough.
