Harry and Meghan ‘partied like tycoons’ on trip

THEIR New Year’s eve jaunt to the french Riviera may have started as a low-key affair.

But within minutes of landing at Nice airport, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped on to a helicopter and were whisked off to Monaco.

The trip would have taken just half an hour by car but the pair instead opted for a six-minute helicopter ride – at an estimated cost of £710.

The couple are believed to have spent two days with friends in the principality dubbed a ‘billionaire’s playground’, with a source claiming they ‘partied like tycoons’.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, set off on the morning of New Year’s eve, sitting at the back of a British Airways plane in economy near the toilets. By yesterday morning the romantic getaway had already come to an end, with the pair jetting back to London, according to local newspaper Monaco-Matin.

One source claimed the couple, who are to marry in May, had celebrated the end of 2017 with Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco. ‘Harry and Meghan were somewhere very private and very expensive,’ they said.

‘Monte Carlo is party central at this time of the year, and the word is that the British royals really enjoyed themselves.

‘The fun could well have been laid on by Prince Albert, who is a close friend of Harry’s. What’s certain is that they were partying like tycoons on New Year’s Day.’

However, a spokesman at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco said the fact Harry and Meghan had partied with the royals was ‘news’ to them, saying: ‘I haven’t got any information about that.

‘It must have been private if it was the case, but ... it’s news to me.’ A spokesman from Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Next Tuesday the couple will visit a youth-orientated radio station in Brixton, south London. They will meet presenters and staff from Reprezent fM, which trains hundreds of young people every year in media and employment skills.
