GREGG WALLACE seems to be having a whale of time as Harry’s guest tonight — he does nothing but giggle for the first two minutes. They’re joined by India Fisher, who does the voiceovers on MasterChef, and Harry has a lot of TV Burp-style fun with clips of Wallace (pictured with Harry).

THERE’S a new addition to the cast as season 16 of this reliable crime drama has its Freeview premiere. Detective Carisi starts out looking like the office joker, but as the season goes on, hidden depths become apparent. Tonight, though, he really doesn’t impress Benson.
NORSE INVADERS Vikings, 9pm, History
AS WE return to this swaggering, loosely historical drama about invading Vikings, Ragnar — still king in name — is torn between leading the hordes back to Wessex and giving up on life altogether. He’s rarely looked more interesting as a character, and this episode plays more like a complex family drama than usual.
SUPERMARKET STAFF Trollied, 10pm, Sky One
THE excellent Sally Phillips joins the cast as Sky’s solid comedy continues, playing a harassed mum who arrives at the supermarket just as Gavin is interviewing for the new night manager position. Gavin is dead set against opening his precious Valco for 24 hours a day, believing that supermarkets should ‘lie fallow at night’.

GARY OLDMAN’S movie debut, showing as part of a short season of his films — each with an introduction by the actor. He stars with Timothy Spall and John Altman as Royal Navy recruits having a violent night out in Plymouth before shipping out. The soundtrack features Brian Eno.
