GOLDEN GLOBES NUGGETS
RE-WATCHING the entire Harry Potter series over the holidays, I was reminded how insufferably irritating Hermione Granger is.
Nice girl, but oh-so-worthy and utterly convinced of her own righteousness.
Her real-life alter ego, Emma Watson (pictured), is not entirely dissimilar. There was something about the
way she brought Marai Larasi — the impressive head of ImKaan, a Britishbased organisation that fights violence against women — to the Golden Globes and paraded her as if a badge of honour that put me in mind of politicians kissing babies.
It was all about Emma, rather than Marai.
