THIS stylish French film caused a stir for its cannibalism theme, but it’s actually a mature and well-done film about fitting in. Garance Marillier is a veterinary student with unusual tastes.

OLIVER STONE’S marathon examination of the events and confusion that surrounded the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 is a tour de force. Part conspiracy thriller, part courtroom drama, it stars Kevin Costner as a lawyer digging for the truth over several years, with Gary Oldman as Lee Harvey Oswald.
