STAR fund manager Terry Smith made £8.1m for running his investment business last year as markets around the world rallied.

His company Fundsmith has managed returns of nearly 200pc since launching in 2010, thanks to a series of savvy bets on stocks such as Microsoft. It manages £13.4bn of investors’ cash, including a large chunk of the married father-of-two’s £220m personal fortune. The boxing fan moved to Mauritius last year to get ‘away from the noise of London’.
