Why is Puglia such a hot destination now?
Puglia mixes a superb blend of high-quality culture, history and architecture with world-renowned food and drink, ensuring there is something for everyone. A visit to Puglia involves walking down quaint, cobbled streets, admiring the baroque buildings and tucking in to some local food and wine – the region produces a fifth of all Italy’s wine.
What are the key areas and why?
You’re truly spoilt for choice. I’d recommend a trip to Lecce, for stunning baroque architecture, Alberobello, to see the UNESCO-protected Trulli houses, and the ‘White Town’ of Ostuni, where you can discover the hidden passageways.
How much is a villa holiday?
As you can imagine, the price varies depending on the location, size of property and the time of year that you depart. Taking Villa Trulli Serena as an example, this three-bedroom property is available from £125 to £472 per person per week,
depending on the departure date.
What are your local
tips? Hire a car! It is so tempting when you have a private villa and pool to relax and not leave them, but there is so much to see and do in Puglia that it is well worth exploring.
What is your favourite part of Puglia?
I love the town of Ostuni. The cobbled streets lead to sumptuous restaurants and gift shops and you’ll be spoilt by fine architecture and coastal views.
