80% off a tin of chocolates? That’s Quality!

- By Xantha Leatham

IF you still feel sick after all those Christmas chocolates, look away now.

Tesco has slashed the price of Quality Street by 80 per cent – forcing some stores to place a four-tin limit on sweet-toothed shoppers.

The supermarket has reduced the 871g selection box from £6 to £1.25 in a bid to clear leftover holiday stock.

Anyone who planned a New Year diet after overindulging last month might want to steer clear of Tesco entirely, as each tin contains roughly 4,200 calories of chocolate. On the other hand, for those stocking up for next year, the chain has also cut the prices of other treats including Lindt bears, which are down to 75p, and tubs of Swizzels sweets, which are priced at £1.
