Neo-Nazi is jailed over curry house rampage

- Daily Mail Reporter

A FAR- RIGHT extremist tried to run over the owner of a curry house during a drunken rampage.

Marek Zakrocki, who supports the anti-Muslim group Britain First, missed Kamal Ahmed and instead smashed his car into the front window of the restaurant.

The 48- year- old Pole was caught on CCTV before the crash making Nazi salutes and ranting about ‘white power’.

The terrifying incident last June came four days after a suspected terror attack near London’s Finsbury Park Mosque.

Zakrocki, who had earlier assaulted his wife Ewa, told a police officer at the scene: ‘ I’m going to kill a Muslim, I’m doing this for Britain. This is the way I will help the country, you people can’t do anything.’

Officers found Britain First magazines and a Nazi coin at his home in Harrow, north-west London.

The window fitter, who has been living in the UK for 14 years, admitted donating money to Britain First, which was set up by former members of the British National Party.

The Old Bailey was told he used his van to try to pin Mr Ahmed against the window of the Spicy Night restaurant in Harrow.

Mr Ahmed’s brother Taj had confronted Zakrocki when he blocked the road outside the venue with his van and started shouting at a Somali woman while making Nazi salutes.

Zakrocki, who admitted dangerous driving, drink-driving and battering his wife, claimed he had no memory of the incident because he was so drunk.

Jailing him for 33 weeks, Judge Anthony Leonard QC said there was evidence of abhorrent racist views but the crime was due to alcohol. He ordered an assault charge to lie on file.
