MY WEEK

-

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO

IT’S been a week of contrasting emotions with the elation of the birth of my son, Johnny (right), being countered by what has been going on at Stoke. Sleepless nights have been absolutely guaranteed for both reasons! Johnny, I am delighted to report, has settled in brilliantly but he is faced with a big question: which great club is he going to support? Grandad Clancy has already got him a Liverpool kit, so he is one up on Grandad Crouch, who is a Chelsea fan. But Johnny has also got Stoke, QPR, Spurs, Portsmouth, Southampton and Aston Villa to choose from, great clubs each and every one.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

ALL the bands who are going to be big in 2018! I’ve mentioned Judas here before but others such as Hey Charlie, Himalayas and Calva Louise are top quality. They are playing the ‘This Feeling’ gig in London tonight and the boys behind this don’t get it wrong. Catfish and the Bottlemen, The 1975 and many more started here.

WHO HAS CAUGHT MY EYE VIRGIL VAN DIJK

TO play as he did in the Merseyside derby after his £75million move from Saints, to be so composed on the ball and never look in danger. He then pops up with the winning goal. Wasn’t a bad debut, was it?

NEXT UP FOR ME

A TRIP to Old Trafford for Monday Night Football. I’m sure Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville will have a field day analysing us at the moment!
