Paradise for pushers

-

NOT content with giving terrorists a platform and allowing illegal pornography to swill across their sites with virtual impunity, Facebook and Instagram are now playing host to pushers who sell drugs to schoolchildren.

A Mail investigation found dozens of dealers openly touting for business, some even offering promotions and guaranteed next-day delivery.

The fact that the police have done little to stop this scandal perhaps reflects society’s increasingly laissez-faire attitude to these hugely dangerous substances.

But isn’t this a conspiracy by the internet firms to supply cannabis and ecstasy? And if it is, shouldn’t they be prosecuted? MINISTERS vowed to do ‘everything they can’ yesterday to keep black cab rapist John Worboys behind bars. But as Dominic Lawson argues on this page, Worboys’ early release is far from unusual. Nearly all prisoners are freed after serving just half their sentences. If he really wants to improve public protection, this is what Justice Secretary David Gauke must change. Early release should be a rarity – not a right.
