Charlotte is George’s boss, says the Queen
SHE’S only two years old, but it seems Princess Charlotte is growing up to be a confident little girl.
At least, that’s the opinion of her great-grandmother – who’s used to having rather a lot of authority herself.
The Queen revealed that the princess is already bossing her big brother Prince George around at a prize-giving ceremony at Sandringham House.
The 91-year- old monarch, who rarely speaks about her family, was presenting a Norfolk schoolgirl with a bible on Sunday. Every year, she gives a copy to the pupil from one of the primary schools on her estate who does best in a religious studies project.
This year the prize was awarded to Dersingham Primary School pupil Emily Clay, ten. Her father, Tom, 38, won it in 1990.
During the short presentation, the Queen asked Emily’s mother, Ellen, 38, whether her daughter looked after her sixyear-old sister, Hadleigh.
Mrs Clay replied that it was ‘ the other way around’, prompting the Queen to say: ‘It’s like that with Charlotte and George.’
Mr Clay said: ‘ The Queen was implying that Charlotte keeps an eye out for George rather than the other way around. It is often the case that a younger child is more confident.’
Last year the Duchess of Cambridge told a serviceman’s wife that ‘ Charlotte is growing up really fast’, adding: ‘She is the one in charge.’
