BIG SNOW

-

Slowly, snow from heaven falls, An angel’s breath from marble halls; Slowly, dust like icing sweet Scatters ground with each repeat. Slowly, carpet crisp of fluff — Dazzling dust known as white stuff. Slowly, flakes of fine design; Each perfect pattern so sublime. Slowly, mounds smooth road and path — A robin has a crystal bath! Slowly, gently, as a kiss, Transformation of bright bliss. Slowly, layer upon white layer, Though milky sky is not set fair. This spectacle enchants and stuns, The mundane — beauteous becomes.

Lynzi Dickson, Highbridge, Somerset.
