Old Harrovian tried to smother model girlfriend with bed cover
A FORMER Harrow schoolboy has been handed an indefinite restraining order after trying to smother his model girlfriend as they argued in bed.
Justin Beckett, 33, attacked Aubrey Fernandez, 34, so violently with a bed cover in her flat that she thought she was going to die, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
The businessman also banged her head against a wall before pushing her down the stairs.
Beckett, a former pupil of the elite £38,000-a-year private boarding school in north London, pleaded guilty to assaulting Miss Fernandez, his girlfriend of four years, on December 9.
Outlining the case, prosecutor Jonathan Bryan told the court: ‘The defendant placed the bed cover over her head and she felt she could not breathe. She said, “I thought I was going to die,” and he would not let her out of the flat.
‘He grabbed her again and pushed her back and she banged her head against the wall, and then pushed her down the stairs.’ Miss Fernandez was born in the Philippines but moved to London to study hospitality and tourism at Harrow International Business School.
As well as being a signed to the Model Mayhem agency – where she describes herself as keen on both ‘runway and lingerie modelling’ – she also runs her own beauty business, offering eyelash extensions.
Magistrates made an indefinite restraining order against the Old Harrovian, who is originally from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, but now lives in central London, prohibiting him from contacting her or visiting her home. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
On an online business profile Beckett describes himself as a ‘seasoned entrepreneur’ who has previously been involved in venture capital and private equity firms and trading.
More recently he became the cofounder of Jav Digital Solutions and the founder of Just B Digital – a firm which produces software, websites and technology for a variety of brands and businesses.
