Brit backpacker ‘killed by lover’

A BRITISH backpacker found dead in a flat in Australia is believed to have been murdered by her Nepalese boyfriend, whose body was found nearby.

Amelia Blake, 22, pictured, from Loughborough in Leicestershire, had spent around eight months in the country since graduating from university, and had been working on a farm. Her body was covered with injuries, including head wounds, when it was discovered in the Sydney apartment on Friday by her landlord. Her boyfriend, who was in his 30s, has not been named.

Police said that they are treating the incident as a murder-suicide.

A family friend said last night that Miss Blake had a ‘wanderlust’ and wanted to see the world before settling down.
