FROM arid desert to monsoon wetlands, from jungle canopy to frozen wilderness, from remote beach to the heart of the city, cats have adapted to the challenges of life in almost every environment on Earth, thriving in every imaginable landscape. Highlights of this second of three bewitching episodes include a South-East Asian fishing cat introducing her kittens to the water around which their lives will revolve; a rarely seen Pallas’s cat (pictured) teaching her cubs to hunt in Outer Mongolia; a tiny black-footed cat night-hunting in South Africa’s scrubby Karoo desert; and a jaguar waiting for thousands of turtles to arrive on a Pacific beach.
