MAY STILL WON’T SAY IF SHE’D VOTE FOR BREXIT

-

THERESA May ducked questions again last night over whether she would vote to leave the EU in a second referendum.

The Prime Minister backed Remain during the June 2016 poll but has repeatedly pledged to deliver on the outcome.

But, in an interview with French TV yesterday, she declined to say if she would vote for Brexit. ‘If a vote was to come up, I would do what I did last time round, which was sit down and look carefully at the issues. But there isn’t going to be another vote, so this is not an issue,’ she said.

In the run-up to last year’s election, Mrs May told Labour: ‘You can only deliver Brexit if you believe in Brexit.’ But in October she refused three times to say whether she would vote Remain were a second vote to be held.

Several pro-Remain cabinet ministers have said they would now vote for Brexit, including Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Treasury chief secretary Elizabeth Truss.
