Labour’s NHS shame
FOUR years ago, an investigation by this newspaper exposed the shocking state of the NHs in Labour-run Wales. so severe were the pressures that Welsh patients were putting huge strain on English hospitals on the other side of the border.
Now MPs are warning of a similar exodus, after Welsh accident and Emergency consultants said that safety is being compromised ‘to an unacceptable degree’.
On the four-hour waiting target some of the best hospitals in Wales do as badly as the worst in England, they said.
For the last month Jeremy Corbyn has seized every opportunity to exploit the NHs for political advantage. Yet on Wales, he is shamefully silent.
after a hugely difficult winter – and the outbreak of flu at its worst for seven years – there is no doubt the NHs in England faces huge challenges.
But that’s no excuse for Mr Corbyn’s cynical political posturing.
