HOW LITTLE BOY RACERS DROVE SALES AT HALFORDS

-

PAMPERED youngsters who were bought their own miniature Bentleys and Mercedes drove Halfords to record sales.

The luxury vehicles are licensed by big car makers, such as Jaguar and Lamborghini, and have proved hugely popular at the retailer over the Black Friday and Christmas periods.

They range in price from £40 to £650, are aimed at children over three, have electric batteries and can zoom around at speeds of up to 3mph.

Many have working headlights, engine sounds and music players.

‘These little ride-on cars have seen massive growth,’ Halfords said.

For the 15 weeks to January 12, it revealed a like-for-like sales boost of 2.9pc compared to the previous year.
