Too little too late, Brussels

-

JEAN- ClAUdE JUNCkER and donald Tusk say EU ‘hearts are still open’ to us and hope this will be ‘heard clearly in london’. But they have had a funny way of showing it these past 18 months.

The closer we get to March 2019, the more the true feelings of Brussels are exposed.

Not so much that it ‘wants’ us — it ‘needs’ us and our billions to keep its gravy train running.

Brexit wasn’t and isn’t about being heard; it’s about millions of ordinary people throughout the Uk who have had to endure diktats handed down from the EU that have seen our fishing industry destroyed, our courts usurped and our Parliament having to bend the knee to Brussels.

Through their arrogance, Tusk, Juncker and their like have killed the Uk goose that laid their golden egg.

No amount of pleading to Tony Blair, Nick Clegg, Michael Heseltine and gina Miller will make us change our minds or have a second referendum. We’re going and we won’t be back.

PHIL JOHNSON, Bishopton, Renfrewshire. dONAld TUSk says the EU’s heart is still open to the Uk. Translation: ‘We want your open wallet back.’

BILL HODGES, Eynesbury, Cambs.
