star Carey Mulligan, 32, suffers for her art. ‘at first, I hated all of it,’ says the Bafta award-winning actress of the fame which has attended her thespian career. ‘I hated the interviews, the red carpets . . . all of it. I used to get to the end of a carpet and start crying — I felt so uncomfortable, and it took a lot out of me. It was an alien environment that I felt completely out of kilter with.’
