EASYJET flew to the top of the FTSE 100 risers after Morgan Stanley raised its target price on the stock.

Analysts said the airline would benefit from the collapse of industry rivals such as Monarch and Air Berlin, which has eased competition in the sector. A stronger euro could also boost its bottom line.

The broker said EasyJet was among its preferred stocks for the year, along with budget competitor Ryanair.

Shares climbed 4.7pc, or 71.5p, to 1584.5p.
