DE BRUYNE NEARS MEGA DEAL
KEVIN DE BRUYNE is gearing up to sign a deal at Manchester City worth more than £260,000 a week. The Belgian will agree a six-year contract worth around £200,000 a week plus £60,000 in image rights. Fernandinho’s two-year deal was confirmed yesterday, while defender Nicolas Otamendi committed his future to the club earlier in the week. Talks are ongoing with Gabriel Jesus. City are also working on a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred — their interest was revealed by Sportsmail last month — with a view to landing him in the summer. Pep Guardiola says he will not go for another striker this month after pulling out of the race for Alexis Sanchez, insisting Sergio Aguero and Jesus are adequate for the remainder of the season. ‘We do not need another one in that position,’ he said.
