Bottom line? Nicole’s got a curvier look
SHE used the awards ceremony to extol the virtues of actresses of a certain age. And Nicole Kidman certainly dressed the part, in a dazzling Armani gown that showcased her curves.
But some onlookers were left wondering whether there is a little more to those curves these days. The 50-yearold’s bottom looked fuller in the glittering gown than it did at last year’s Baftas, when a black skirt left her with an apparently flatter derriere (right).
It is unclear whether Miss Kidman’s curvier appearance could have been due to some slight padding or a trick of the light. The Australian won best actress in a TV programme for her role as an abused housewife in Big Little Lies.
Fighting back tears as she accepted her award, the Moulin Rouge star said: ‘To receive this at this stage in my life is extraordinary.’
Miss Kidman acknowledged the contribution of veteran actresses such as Meryl Streep, 68, and Susan Sarandon, 71, saying: ‘I want to thank you all for your trailblazing performances you’ve given over your career and how wonderful it is that our careers can go beyond 40 years old, because 20 years ago we were pretty washed up by this stage in our lives, so that’s not the case now.
‘We’ve proven, and these actresses and so many more are proving, that we are potent and powerful and viable.’
