Del Boy’s £2bn flotation

SELF- made millionair­e Chris Dawson is eyeing a £2bn stock market listing of his discount retailer The Range.

Dawson, 65, who learned to read at the age of 27, is said to be in talks with investment banks to list the company, which he founded almost 30 years ago and now has around 150 stores. He likens himself to Only Fools And Horses character Derek Trotter, otherwise known as Del Boy, and owns the car registrati­on DE11 BOY.

He and his wife Sarah are worth a combined £1.9bn. A spring listing is rumoured.

The retailer is expected to report profits of £100m in the year to January.
