YOU HAVE YOUR SAY

EVERY week, Money Mail receives hundreds of your letters. Here are some from our report about how, following the ban on credit card fees, firms are stinging you with other charges:

-

I cover UNDERSTAND their costs, firms but they need must to be up-front with customers and display the full price, including charges. Shoppers hate paying more because of hidden fees. I.S., Derby IT’S shocking that firms have found another way to rip off customers. I bet those who came up with the ban on credit card fees didn’t see that coming. R.G., Welling, London EVERY time politicians meddle in something they don’t understand, it ends in a mess. This is a perfect example — they ban card fees and firms start charging bigger admin and booking fees. C.G., Leeds IF SHOPPERS boycotted the worst offenders they’d soon change their ways. A.C., Newcastle I RUN a business. If I accept credit cards, I have to pay a monthly fee plus a charge every time someone uses one. Before the ban, I didn’t charge a penny more than it cost me to accept cards. Now I have no choice but to cover my costs another way. S.A., Stoke-on-Trent SHOPS are charged for accepting credit cards, so it’s only fair they pass on that cost. If they can’t charge card users a fee, it is only fair they find another way.
