Morrisons joins the Red Bull ban
MORRISONS is the latest supermarket to ban the sale of high- caffeine energy drinks to children.
Asda, Aldi and Waitrose have already announced bans, meaning customers will have to prove they are over 16 before buying drinks containing more than 150mg of caffeine per litre – such as Red Bull.
Morrisons will introduce the age limit on March 5. Andrew Clappen, corporate services director, said the decision was in response to customers’ concerns.
Teachers’ union NASUWT previously said one in ten teachers cited the drinks as a key cause of poor pupil behaviour.
