PROBLEMS PILE UP FOR CONTE: Now I can complete set, says Arsene

ARSENE WENGER vowed to tackle ‘unfinished business’ after Arsenal came from behind to reach the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City. Wenger will be at Wembley for the 10th time in the last four years. The Arsenal boss has won the previous nine and victory over City next month would finally complete his full set of domestic trophies after more than 21 years in London. ‘It is unfinished business because we haven’t won it,’ said Wenger. ‘We are in the final again and we can take our fans there. But we will play against very strong side and we have a big job in front of us before the final because we want to be in the top four in the Premier League.’ After a goalless first leg at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard put Chelsea ahead last night but Arsenal levelled through an own goal by Antonio Rudiger and Granit Xhaka scored the winner. ‘They made us work for it,’ said Wenger. ‘Yes, we were a bit lucky but overall we controlled the game in the second half. We showed them too much respect in the first half. I changed something at half-time and it worked well. ‘It was a great, satisfying night because we managed to beat a strong team. What is important is that we have shown we can beat the big teams no matter what competition.’ Chelsea boss Antonio Conte thought the tie hinged on a minor hamstring injury which forced Willian off in the first half, to be replaced by Ross Barkley for his debut. ‘The Willian injury was decisive because we don’t have many players to make substitutions,’ said Conte. ‘I was a bit forced to play Ross Barkley, a really good player, a great prospect and very important for Chelsea but he needs time to understand our football. ‘We had a good run in this competition. We had great desire and great will to play at Wembley. We conceded two strange goals. We were unlucky twice. ‘I am happy with the commitment of my players. They gave 120 per cent to try to reach the final. It’s a pity when your car is going 200kmph but you don’t reach your target. It is a big disappointment but we must be realistic.’
