Italian train crash kills 3

THREE commuters were killed and 13 seriously injured when a rush-hour train in Italy was derailed yesterday morning.

The regional service from Cremona had about 250 people on board when at least two carriages came off the tracks around 7am in the Milan suburb of Segrate.

Survivors reported experienci­ng shaking for a few minutes before hearing a loud bang and then feeling the coach crush in on them.

Rail chief Umberto Debruto said the train was not speeding. An inquiry has begun.
