Changing crime

I AM in the alarm and CCTV business and go to more than 80 homes every month. I can’t remember the last time I visited a burglary victim to install an alarm and have been told the intruder has been arrested.

The police have so much going on relating to the terror threat and cyber crime that other offences have to take a back seat.

I am surprised at the way new technology has changed the types of crimes committed. on a number of occasions, I have been asked to provide CCTV data after men have taken cameras into sunbed shops to film women in adjoining cubicles.

The fact everyone carries a camera phone at all times means such crimes are on the increase.
