Get a grip on the Cabinet

WHEN I worked for a multinational company, I attended management meetings to discuss business strategy. While we did not all agree on some decisions, once they were taken we would all abide by them.

The Conservative Cabinet is in effect the UK management team and all of its members should abide by its decisions. The public bickering over Brexit, the NHS and education would not be happening if the Cabinet was run along similar lines to a commercial enterprise.

If I had publicly disagreed with a management decision, I’d have expected more than a ticking off — it would have shortened my career.

Theresa May has to get a firmer management grip on her Cabinet so they all start singing from the same hymn sheet.
