COUTINHO’S BARCA BOW

- By SIMON JONES

PHILIPPE COUTINHO, whose £145million move from Liverpool to Barcelona smashed the record for a deal involving an English club, made his debut in last night’s 2-0 Spanish Cup win against Espanyol. The Brazilian, wearing Johan Cruyff’s iconic No14 shirt, came on as a substitute for Andres Iniesta (right), after goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi had set up a 2-1 aggregate triumph. Liverpool, meanwhile, have fought off late competition from Manchester United to sign Falkirk teenager Tony Gallacher. The left back, due to join today in a deal that could rise to £1.2m, trained with the club last week — when United also made enquiries. Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster is likely to miss the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage. EVERTON are ready to allow Ademola Lookman to go out on loan, possibly to Leeds. Striker Sandro can also leave for a £2m loan fee plus his £110,000 a week wages.
