Bank’s Brexit backing

A SWISS investment bank has vowed to keep as many staff as possible in London after Brexit – saying the City must remain a global hub.

UBS is keen to preserve a rival financial centre in the region to balance out Wall Street. Investment banking chief Andrea Orcel said global banks have long clustered together in the Square Mile and do not want to leave.

It is a U-turn for UBS, which once threatened to shift 1,000 UK workers abroad.
