Insolvency figures soar
THE number of people becoming insolvent across England and Wales hit a three-year high during 2017, official figures show.
The Insolvency Service said 99,196 personal insolvencies were recorded. This marks a 9.4pc rise on 2016 and the highest total since 2014, when there were 99,223 cases. It is the second year in a row the numbers have increased.
