‘Hacker’ finds out fate today
ALLEGED computer hacker Lauri Love will find out today if he has successfully challenged his extradition to the US.
Two judges sitting at the High Court in London will give their decision on Mr Love’s appeal.
Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett and Mr Justice Ouseley heard arguments on his behalf during a hearing in November that extradition would not be in the ‘interests of justice’ for several reasons, including the ‘high risk’ that Love, pictured, who suffers from Asperger syndrome, would kill himself.
US authorities have been fighting for Love, 32, to face trial on charges of cyberhacking, which could result in a sentence of 99 years in prison if he is found guilty.
Love, who lives with his parents near Newmarket in Suffolk, is alleged to have stolen data from agencies including the Federal Reserve, the army, the defence department, Nasa and the FBI.
