Regal in red, the beaming Queen
WITH a smile as bright as the winter sunshine in Sandringham yesterday, the Queen looked striking all in red as she chatted with members of the public on her way to church with Prince Philip.
Wearing a deep red coat with matching dress, feathered hat and ruby-encrusted gold brooch, the Queen, 91, attended the service at St Peter and St Paul as she prepared to mark tomorrow’s 66th anniversary of her accession to the throne and the death of her father King George VI.
The Queen, who returns to London later this week after her Christmas break, stopped to collect bouquets from the crowd and told well-wisher Mary Relph: ‘It’s sad when you have to leave Norfolk.’
