1 CAMERON CAMER NORRIE was born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand by British parents. He classes himself as a Brit and says: ‘My dad is fully Scottish with a filthy accent.’

2 HE GOT into tennis by playing squash with his Welsh mum on the family’s driveway. Norrie also played rugby, cricket and football.

3 A DEFLATED Norrie had just lost 6-1, 6-4 to Sam Querrey at Queen’s last year when he was told that he had been awarded a wildcard for Wimbledon, guaranteeing him £35,000.

4 NORRIE, who says he finds grass ‘a challenge’, lost 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the first round of Wimbledon in 2017. Outdoor hard court is Norrie’s favourite surface.

5 ANDY MURRAY is a ‘role model’ for Norrie, who in the past has been invited to practise with the former world No 1 at the All England Club.
