Rugby star turns tables on troll
A MORTGAGE boss has quit after being unmasked as the troll behind a series of abusive tweets sent to an England rugby player.
Patrick Bunton, 50, hiding behind the twitter handle @havingalaugh3, repeatedly attacked Bath fly- half Freddie Burns, 27 (pictured) calling him a ‘hair dyed show pony’.
Mr Bunton, 50, quit as operations director at Bath-based London and Country Mortgages, where he had worked for a quarter of a century. The firm said he had left to pursue ‘other opportunities’. It is understood he was identified through an email link to the twitter account.
Burns, who has several England caps, tweeted: ‘This man aggressively trolled me for weeks and has decided to “resign” after I made official complaints to his work.’ Earlier he said the tweets ‘felt like character assassination’.
Mr Bunton declined to comment.
