THE Ellis family from Bradford (FreyaFreya, Lesley, Jon, Harvey and Caitlin, pictured) embark on a culinary time-travelling quest to find out how the diets of ordinary families in the North of England have changed over the past century. To begin, Sara Cox and historian Polly Russell introduce the family to their 1918 diet — bread and lard, yum.
