Double standards

The Ministry of Defence won’t assist the police in tracing the night Watcher burglar, who is thought to be connected with the Armed Forces, yet the DVLA provides parking cowboys with owners’ details at the rate of 12 per minute (Mail).

Clearly the government cares nothing for protecting the public from criminals or cowboys. Perhaps the clue is that the DVLA is paid per disclosure, but there is no income from catching crooks. M. PERKINS, Seaford, E. Sussex.
