TUNNOCK’S TEACAKES (BANNED)

THE poster – put up on a single site outside a charity tennis match in Glasgow last November – shows a female tennis player holding a teacake in place of a tennis ball at the top of her thigh, with her skirt raised at the hip.

The text underneath states ‘Where do you keep yours?’ and further text underneath an image of the product image states ‘Serve up a treat’.

While the company hoped passers-by would see the treat as its teacakes, the ASA thought the woman was being presented as the ‘treat’.
