BREWDOG is opening a brewery in Australia as it continues an expansion which has seen its price tag reach £1bn in just over ten years.
The Scottish craft brewer, which was launched by two 24-year-old entrepreneurs in 2007, will build the facility in Brisbane, which will be between 2,000-4,000 sq m.
The Brewhouse will include a canning facility, taproom and restaurant. And Brewdog plans to collaborate with local craft breweries in a bid to help them grow their market share in Australia.
Brewdog has also agreed a franchise tie-up with TRG Concessions in the UK to open pubs and bars in airports and train stations.
Brewdog runs 32 bars in the UK and 17 overseas including in Barcelona, Berlin and Sao Paulo. In 2017, private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners bought a 22pc stake for £213m, giving Brewdog its £1bn valuation.
