IN THE match ratings for Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat at Watford on Monday night, I gave Tiemoue Bakayoko three out of 10. He was well off the pace, unable to exert control. He has struggled to adjust his game to the Premier League’s frenetic tempo. His first touch was poor and his passing was careless. He conceded possession in dangerous areas. An error on the ball led to his first yellow card for a trip on Etienne Capoue and, although he barely touched Richarlison, his second yellow was the result of another heavy touch. His indiscipline cost his side the match. Bakayoko (left) was signed from Monaco in the summer for £40million. Six months later, that outlay looks like a costly mistake.
