LEWIS COULD RETURN HERE, SAY McLAREN

LEWIS HAMILTON has been offered a homecoming at McLaren if he fails to sign a new deal with Mercedes. Mercedes insist they only need to finalise the details of a new contract with their world champion driver who is signed up until the end of the 2018 season. But Hamilton has yet to put pen to paper and McLaren’s executive director Zak Brown said: ‘Lewis has history here. There isn’t a team in the pitlane that would not be interested in having him, us included. I say “hi” occasionally and he is very friendly with the shareholders.’
